LOCARNO \u2014 Het festival van Locarno moet nog beginnen en nu al heeft het Duitse Beta Cinema zich verzekerd van de werelddistributierechten van ‘Vincent and the End of the World’<\/em>, zo laat het Amerikaanse filmvakblad Variety weten vanuit Locarno, waar de film vrijdag in wereldpremi\u00e8re gaat op het grote buitenplein van het Zwitserse filmfestival. \u00a0Voor Variety groot nieuws want dat is de film van hetzelfde team dat ‘Moscow, Belgium’<\/em>, maakte en daar in 2008 de drie prijzen van de \u00a0Cannes Critics\u2019 Week \u00a0mee binnenhaalde, aldus nog Variety. \u00a0Ze hebben het natuurlijk over ‘Aanrijding in Moscou’<\/em> en de nevencompetitie ‘La semaine de la critique’.<\/p>\n

Hetzelfde team. \u00a0Daar doelen ze op regisseur Christophe Van Rompaey<\/strong> die opnieuw een scenario van Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem<\/strong> bewerkt, en Jean-Claude verzorgt samen met Dries Phlypo<\/strong> ook opnieuw de productie van de film met hun productiehuis A Private View. En natuurlijk is ook Barbara Sarafian<\/strong> (‘Rundskop’, ‘8 1\/2 Women’<\/em>), de ster van ‘Aanrijding in Moscou’, die toentertijd, zo herinnert Variety er nog eens aan, \u00a0“een indrukwekkende vertolking neerzette in een komisch drama over werkmensen, dat de sfeer oproep van Mike Leighs beste vroege films.”<\/p>\n

\nEen goeie internationale salesagent, dat is natuurlijk het begin van een mooie internationale carri\u00e8re. \u00a0Want als je in de portefeuille geraakt van een firma die over de hele wereld onderhandelingen voert, dan gaan er deuren open. Dat er sowieso internationale belangstelling was en al enkele deals rond zijn, heeft wellicht ook te maken met de aanwezigheid in de cast van de Franse ster Alexandre Lamy, die in de film de zus speelt van Barbara Sarafian.\"\"<\/p>\n

We lezen in Variety dat intussen de Zwitserse bioscooprechten zijn al verkocht, aan Cineworx, terwijl de Franse rechten zijn terechtgekomen bij Ad Vitam, volgens Variety een van de meest energieke arthouse\/cross-over distributeurs die in Frankrijk recent nog ’45 Years’ met Charlotte Rampling in de zalen gebracht heeft.<\/p>\n

In ons land wordt de film verdeeld door Paradiso Filmed Entertainment en is hij in de zalen te zien vanaf 31 augustus.<\/p>\n
