Het Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) vertoont op zaterdag 20 september drie korte Vlaamse films:<em> &#8216;Dood van een schaduw\u2019<\/em> van <strong>Tom Van Avermaet<\/strong>, <em>\u2019Tunnelrat&#8217;<\/em> van <strong>Raf Reyntjes<\/strong> en <em>\u2019Vrede&#8217;<\/em> van <strong>Roman Klochkov<\/strong>. Ze maken deel uit van het door <strong>Charles Silver<\/strong> en Dave Kehr gecureerde programma<em> \u2018The Great War: A Cinematic Legacy\u2019<\/em> waarmee het begin van de Eerste Wereldoorlog herdacht wordt. Tom Van Avermaets &#8216;Dood van een schaduw&#8217;, vorig jaar nog genomineerd voor de Oscar voor Beste Kortfilm, toont <strong>Matthias Schoenaerts<\/strong> als een gestorven soldaat die probeert een tweede kans op leven te verdienen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2019Tunnelrat&#8217;, een korte film van Raf Reyntjes uit 2008, kan eveneens rekenen op Schoenaerts. In de film ontmoeten een Duitse en een Geallieerde soldaat elkaar achter vijandelijke linies. Ze worden er geconfronteerd met hun gemeenschappelijke vijand: de oorlog zelf.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/nl\/drie-vlaamse-kortfilms-in-momas-the-great-war-programma\/vrede-klochkov\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-60295\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-60295\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/vrede-klochkov-800x386.png\" width=\"640\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/vrede-klochkov-800x386.png 800w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/vrede-klochkov-480x232.png 480w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/vrede-klochkov.png 1680w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tot slot wordt in New York ook Roman Klochkovs \u2019Vrede&#8217; voorgesteld, een \u00e9\u00e9n-minuut-durend animatiefilmpje over een onverwachte vrede nadat beide kampen zich tot de tanden hebben bewapend. De film maakt deel uit van het project 12 minuten over vrede, een initiatief van het VAF dat leidde tot een verzameling van 12 animatiefilmpjes van \u00e9\u00e9n minuut ter herdenking van de Groote Oorlog. De filmpjes zijn momenteel ook te zien op Canvas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>De filmexpositie \u2018The Great War: A Cinematic Legacy\u2019 van het MoMA ging van start op 4 augustus, de dag waarop 100 jaar geleden de Eerste Wereldoorlog uitbrak, en toont nog tot 21 september zo\u2019n 60 speelfilms en thematische programma\u2019s. Met de expositie wil het prestigieuze museum een omvangrijk beeld schetsen van de manier waarop de Groote Oorlog voorgesteld werd op het witte doek. De geselecteerde films belichten diverse thema\u2019s als vooroorlogse activiteiten, spionage, de oorlogsvoering ter land, ter zee en in de lucht of ook het thuisfront tijdens en na de oorlog. Op het programma staan klassiekers als o.a.<em>&#8216; The Great Dictator&#8217;<\/em> (opening reels), <em>&#8216;A Farewell to Arms&#8217;<\/em> en <em>&#8216;Lawrence of Arabia&#8217;<\/em> alsook meer hedendaagse films waaronder <em>&#8216;War Horse\u2019<\/em> van <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/nl\/drie-vlaamse-kortfilms-in-momas-the-great-war-programma\/1011404_nl_i_m_the_same__i_m_an_other_1379602982780-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-60286\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-60286\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/1011404_nl_i_m_the_same__i_m_an_other_13796029827801-202x270.jpg\" width=\"202\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/1011404_nl_i_m_the_same__i_m_an_other_13796029827801-202x270.jpg 202w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/1011404_nl_i_m_the_same__i_m_an_other_13796029827801.jpg 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px\" \/><\/a>Charles Silver, filmcurator aan het prestigieuze Museum of Modern Art, stelde het programma samen, bijgestaan door adjunct-curator Dave Kehr. Het was ook Dave Kehr die Caroline Strubbe begin vorige maand uitnodigde naar New York waar haar films <em>&#8216;Lost Persons Area&#8217;<\/em> en <em>&#8216;I\u2019m the same I\u2019m an other&#8217;<\/em> een week lang dagelijks vertoond werden in het reguliere filmprogramma van het MoMA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Dood van een schaduw&#8217; is een productie van <strong>Ellen De Waele<\/strong> van Serendipity Films (<em>&#8217;82 Days in April&#8217;<\/em>) en werd gerealiseerd dankzij een VAF Wildcard die Van Avermaet in 2006 won met zijn eindwerk.<\/p>\n<p>\u2019Tunnelrat&#8217; is een productie van <strong>Peter De Maegd<\/strong> voor Potemkino (<em>\u2019Welp&#8217;<\/em>), terwijl Roman Klochkovs \u2019Vrede&#8217; geproduceerd werd door Lunanime (<em>&#8216;The Team&#8217;, \u2019Offline&#8217;<\/em>).
