De op waargebeurde feiten ge\u00efnspireerde film wist zowel de Prijs voor Beste Langspeelfilm, Beste Regie als Beste Scenario in de wacht te slepen op dit festival dat zich uitsluitend toespitst op vrouwelijk filmtalent. Met drie van de negen uitgereikte awards op zak wordt\u00a0\u2018Little Black Spiders\u2019\u00a0de revelatie van het VIWIFF genoemd.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Patrice Toye<\/span> kreeg voor\u00a0\u2018Little Black Spiders\u2019\u00a0niet alleen de Prijs voor Beste Regie uitgereikt, maar ziet haar film ook gelauwerd als Beste Langspeelfilm. Katja, Roxy en enkele andere levenslustige tienermeisjes wachten op een geheime zolderkamer van een ziekenhuis hun bevalling af. Sommigen willen hun misstap het liefst zo snel mogelijk achter zich laten maar Katja, zelf een wees, denkt daar anders over en kiest resoluut voor haar nog ongeboren kind. De hoofdrollen worden vertolkt door o.a.<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> Line Pillet<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Charlotte De Bruyne<\/span>,<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> Dolores Bouckaert<\/span> en<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> Ineke Nijssen<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vorige zomer ging\u00a0\u2018Little Black Spiders\u2019\u00a0in wereldpremi\u00e8re tijdens het Wereldfilmfestival van Montr\u00e9al, na Cannes het meest gerenommeerde filmfestival in Franssprekend gebied. De film mocht verder ook het Filmfestival Oostende openen en screende vervolgens onder meer tijdens het Valladolid International Film Festival en het Nederlands Film Festival in Utrecht. Jaarlijks vertoont het festival een selectie aan korte en lange films van opkomend en gevestigd vrouwelijk talent.
