Nadat\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u2018The Broken Circle Breakdown\u2019<\/span> recent op het gerenommeerde Festival van Berlijn in de prijzen viel, lijkt de internationale carri\u00e8re van de film van<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> Felix van Groeningen<\/span> helemaal gelanceerd.\u00a0 De prent is nu geselecteerd voor de Offici\u00eble Competitie van het Tribeca International Film Festival in New York (17 \u2013 28 april). Dat maakte het festival vandaag bekend.\u00a0 Het Tribeca Film Festival geniet in Amerika en ver daarbuiten een enorme reputatie. Het werd in 2002 opgericht door onder meer \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Robert De Niro<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Samen met nog 11 andere titels maakt \u2018The Broken Circle Breakdown\u2019 in New York\u00a0deel uit van de \u2018World Narrative Competition\u2019. In die selectie veel alternatieve films van over de hele wereld, meestal geregisseerd door filmmakers die hier compleet onbekend zijn. De bekendste naam is die van <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Laurie Collyer<\/span>, die eerder de bekroonde film<em><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"> \u2018Sherrybaby\u2019<\/span><\/em> maakte met <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Maggie Gyllenhaal<\/span>.\u00a0 In haar nieuwste spelen <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Naomi Watts<\/span> en <span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Matt Dillon<\/span> de hoofdrollen. Volgens het festival weerspiegelt de selectie van de \u2018World Narrative Competition\u2019 de universele kracht van film en van het vertellen van verhalen. Tijdens het Filmfestival van Berlijn werd \u2018The Broken Circle Breakdown\u2019 bovendien al verkocht aan bijna 30 landen, en wordt er over de mogelijke release in diverse andere territoria nog druk onderhandeld. In Frankrijk wordt \u2018The Broken Circle Breakdown\u2019 later dit jaar op 100 kopie\u00ebn uitgebracht, in Duitsland komt de film op 80 kopie\u00ebn in roulatie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Het prestigieuze Tribeca Film Festival werd in 2002 opgericht door onder meer filmster Robert De Niro en maakte er zijn missie van om filmmakers een zo breed mogelijk platform te bieden voor hun werk.
