Haar bekendste film, <\/b><\/span><b><i><span lang=\"FR\">L&#8217;<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i><span lang=\"NL\">e<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i><span lang=\"FR\">nfant d&#8217;en haut<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><span lang=\"NL\">, maakte ze in 2012, met L\u00e9a Seydoux in de hoofdrol. Nu maken regisseur en actrice zich klaar om de handen opnieuw in elkaar te slaan. Voor <i>The Quiet Land<\/i> wist Meier bovendien nog een grote vis aan de haak te slaan: Bill Murray. Het wordt een tweetalig project, dat een politieonderzoek koppelt aan melancholie en romantiek.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">Het is op zijn zachtst gezegd een onverwacht duo dat Ursula Meier in haar nieuwe film bij elkaar brengt. Heel benieuwd wat dat zal geven. De cineaste omschrijft <i>The Quiet Land<\/i> zelf als een project op het kruispunt tussen een misdaadfilm, een liefdesverhaal en een emotionele trip. Ze wil het onder meer hebben over het menselijke geheugen en wat er van ons overblijft wanneer we er niet meer zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">Meier staat bekend om haar visuele kracht, en voor <i>The Quiet Land<\/i> wil ze zich laten inspireren door het werk van Arnold Odermatt, een Zwitserse fotograaf \u2014 en eigenaardig genoeg ook politieman \u2014 die naam maakte met analoge zwart-witfoto\u2019s van verkeersongevallen.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">De regisseur wil in de film een ingetogen sfeer cre\u00ebren en heeft zich daarvoor omringd met een prestigieus team. Achter de camera vinden we bijvoorbeeld Agn\u00e8s Godard, een sleutelfiguur in het werk van Claire Denis. De montage is dan weer in handen van Nelly Quettier, een trouwe medewerkster van Leos Carax. Om maar te zeggen dat <i>The Quiet Land<\/i>, een Frans-Engelse coproductie, een van de films wordt waar cinefielen reikhalzend naar uitkijken.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><i><span lang=\"NL\">The Quiet Land<\/span><\/i><span lang=\"NL\"> zit momenteel nog in de preproductiefase. Meier wil draaien in het najaar van 2027 en de film klaar hebben voor het voorjaar van 2028.
