In haar debuut verkent de Belgische regisseur authenticiteit, kwetsbaarheid en emotionele blootstelling\u00a0\u2014 thema&#8217;s die ze al jaren met zich meedraagt. Want Huyghe bouwde eerst een stevige reputatie op met korte films die prijzen in de wacht sleepten en reisden naar toonaangevende festivals als de Cin\u00e9fondation in Cannes, Visions du R\u00e9el en Palm Springs. In 2015 werd ze geselecteerd voor Berlinale Talents, het prestigieuze programma dat elk jaar de meest veelbelovende filmmakers van de wereld samenbrengt aan de Spree.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Huyghe studeerde Audiovisuele Kunsten aan LUCA Brussel \u00e9n Internationale Betrekkingen aan de Universiteit Gent \u2014 een combinatie die je terugvindt in haar blik op de wereld: ze maakt films die persoonlijk aanvoelen maar nooit de bredere context uit het oog verliezen. Naast fictie heeft ze ook ervaring in documentaire \u2014 zo maakte ze voor Canvas een documentaire over de Covid-crisis in woonzorgcentra \u2014 en in experimentele film. Ze werkt samen met producer Elisa Heene van Mirage Films.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Met <em>Real Faces<\/em> zet Huyghe nu een grote stap. Een prachtig minimalistische, detailrijke film over menselijke connectie en het gevoel van thuishoren, met cinematografie van Grimm Vandekerckhove.
