Cap Farewell vertelt het verhaal van Toni, een jonge vrouw die na haar vrijlating uit de gevangenis probeert haar leven weer op te bouwen. Ze keert noodgedwongen terug naar haar moeder Betty, bij wie haar dochter Anna opgroeide terwijl zij achter de tralies zat. Werk in de brouwerij van haar nonkel biedt een nieuw begin, maar al snel wordt ze opnieuw de smokkelhandel ingetrokken van Max, haar jeugdliefde en de vader van Anna \u2014 de man voor wie ze ooit de gevangenis in ging. Met een sterke internationale cast \u2014 No\u00e9e Abita, Pascale Bussi\u00e8res, Olivier Gourmet en Matteo Simoni \u2014 en opnames in Belgi\u00eb en Nederland schetst d&#8217;Alcantara een rauw en intiem portret van een vrouw die vecht voor vrijheid en moederschap. Tijdens het Filmfestival Oostende sprak We Love Cinema met de regisseur over deze nieuwe, meer persoonlijke koers in haar filmografie.
