Ish A\u00eft Hamou is romanschrijver, regisseur en filmmaker. Van zijn boeken zijn meer dan 100.000 exemplaren verkocht in Belgi\u00eb en Nederland. Als schrijver en regisseur debuteerde hij met de kortfilm &#8216;Klem&#8217;, gebaseerd op een van zijn romans. Daarnaast kreeg Ish het Vlaams ereteken en de titel Doctor Honoris Causa van de Universiteit Gent voor zijn bijdrage aan de literatuur en de samenleving. Monir A\u00eft Hamou begon zijn carri\u00e8re als acteur en speelde een van de hoofdrollen in de Belgische hitfilm &#8216;Les Barons&#8217; (2009) van Nabil Ben Yadir. Daarna zette hij zijn theatercarri\u00e8re voort met de succesvolle tournee van &#8216;Geletterde mensen&#8217; van auteur en journalist Tom Naegels. In 2016 stapte hij zelf achter de camera als co-regisseur \u00e9n co-schrijver van de RTBF-serie &#8216;Champion&#8217;. Monir is ook betrokken bij het coachen van jonge Brusselse scenaristen. &#8216;BXL&#8217; gaat over twee broers, Tarek (26) en Fouad (12), die opgroeien in Brussel en er hun dromen proberen waar te maken. De een wil doorstoten als topatleet in de MMA, terwijl de andere ervan droomt om te durven praten met het meisje waar hij verliefd op is.
