Van Dijl won in 2015 een VAF Wildcard met zijn eindwerk aan LUCA School of Arts en maakte daarmee zijn kortfilm \u2018Stephanie\u2019, een productie van De Wereldvrede, die in 2020 werd geselecteerd voor de kortfilmselectie van het Festival van Cannes en vervolgens verschillende filmfestivals aandeed. En nu debuteert Van Dijl dus met \u2018Julie zwijgt\u2019, dat zich opnieuw in de sportwereld afspeelt. De film beleefde in mei zijn wereldpremi\u00e8re op het Semaine de la Critique in Cannes en won daar meteen drie prijzen. Sindsdien toerde \u2018Julie zwijgt\u2019 langs verscheidene filmfestivals in onder meer Toronto, Polen, Londen, Hamburg en San Sebastian. De film is de Belgische inzending voor de Oscars, staat op de shortlist voor de European Film Awards en vierde recent zijn Belgische premi\u00e8re op het Film Fest Gent.
