Met Pitt in de (ha!) cockpit en zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 Lewis Hamilton in de rol van producent en adviseur.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En alsof dat nieuws nog niet opwindend genoeg was, hebben de makers ook bevestigd dat de film niet enkel een \u2018klassieke\u2019 bioscooprelease zal krijgen maar daarnaast ook te zien zal zijn op de reuzengrote IMAX-schermen.<\/p>\n<p>We hadden het al eerder over de plot, maar we frissen met plezier je geheugen nog eens op. De voorlopig titelloze film zal draaien rond een Formule 1-piloot (Brad Pitt) die het stuur al even aan de wilgen heeft gehangen. Maar hij beslist om uit zijn welverdiende pensioen terug te keren en een getalenteerde jonge coureur onder zijn vleugels te nemen. Dat personage zal gespeeld worden door de Britse acteur Damson Idris (<em>Snowfall<\/em>, <em>Black Mirror<\/em>). Via die nieuwe beschermeling zal Pitt proberen om opnieuw te proeven van de glorie van zijn eigen hoogdagen.<\/p>\n<p>Regisseur van dienst wordt Joseph Kosinski (<em>Oblivion<\/em>, <em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>), en het scenario is van de hand van Ehren Kruger (<em>The Ring<\/em>, <em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>). Wat de rest van de cast betreft, zijn we zeker ook blij met de aanwezigheid van Kerry Condon (<em>The Banshees of <\/em><em>Inisherin<\/em>) Tobias Menzies (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, <em>The Crown<\/em>) en Javier Bardem.<\/p>\n<p>Het Formule 1-team in de film is fictief, maar omdat alles in levensechte omstandigheden wordt gedraaid, betekent het dat er de voorbije maanden plots een elfde team in de startgrid van verschillende Grote Prijzen is verschenen. De opnames lopen volgende zomer trouwens nog door, onder meer tijdens de Grote Prijs van Groot-Brittanni\u00eb op 7 juli. Er zijn zelfs plannen om nog te draaien tijdens de afsluitende Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi in december.<\/p>\n<p>De producenten van de film weten in elk geval waarmee ze bezig zijn. Aan de ene kant is er Jerry Bruckheimer en Chad Oman, die alles afweten van actiefilms (zoals <em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>, de <em>Pirates of the Caribbean<\/em>-films en de <em>Bad Boys<\/em>-serie). Brad Pitt en zijn vaste productiepartner Dede Gardner hebben dan weer kaas gegeten van drama (zoals <em>12 Years a Slave<\/em> en <em>Moonlight<\/em>).
