Hij omschrijft de film zelf als \u00ab<em>een Romeins epos dat zich afspeelt in een fictief modern Amerika<\/em>\u00bb. <em>Megalopolis<\/em> zal binnenkort zijn wereldpremi\u00e8re beleven op het festival van Cannes en komt tegen eind dit jaar in de Belgische bioscopen. En dit is de eerste trailer!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volgens de offici\u00eble synopsis zal de film ons meevoeren naar \u00ab<em>een wereld die in de greep is van decadentie. De stad New Rome moet dringend veranderen, en dat leidt tot een stevig conflict tussen Cesar Catalina, een geniale kunstenaar die gave bezit om de tijd stil te zetten, en de aartsconservatieve burgemeester Franklyn Cicero. Catalina droomt van een ideale utopische toekomst, Cicero houdt vast aan een status quo die hebzucht, privilege en priv\u00e9-milities in bescherming neemt. Julia Cicero, de hippe dochter van de burgemeester, is verliefd op Cesar Catalina. Hij wist alvast een indrukwekkende reeks acteurs te strikken. Adam Driver (<em>Star Wars<\/em>,<em> Ferrari<\/em>) neemt de rol van Cesar Catalina voor zijn rekening, Giancarlo Esposito (<em>Breaking Bad<\/em>, <em>The Usual Suspects<\/em>) is zijn tegenstander Franklyn Cicero.
