Re\u00eble en verbeelde werelden vloeien in elkaar over in een onge\u00ebvenaarde ervaring. Je kan dit binnenkort gaan kijken (en voelen) op het Kortfilmfestival in Leuven.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Floating With Spirits<\/em>, de eerste VR-installatie die ooit geselecteerd was voor Film Fest Gent<\/strong>, is nu ook geselecteerd voor het Kortfilmfestival<\/strong>. De Colombiaans-Belgische Juanita Onzaga<\/strong> voert je mee naar een geheime wereld en biedt een grensverleggende ervaring om nooit meer te vergeten.<\/p>\n

In de mistige en mystieke bergstreek in het zuiden van Mexico, viert de Mazateekse gemeenschap de Dag van de Doden. Nauw verbonden met hun voorouders en de natuurgeesten opent zich een poort tussen het zichtbare en het onzichtbare.<\/p>\n

Over de film<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twee zusjes bereiden zich voor op de Dag van de Doden in de mystieke bergen van Mexico en herinneren zich de verhalen die hun sjamaanse grootmoeder vroeger vertelde. Terwijl de Mazateekse gemeenschap feestviert, betreden we de geheime wereld van hun voorouders en de geesten van de natuur en krijgen we toegang tot de diepgaande en inspirerende wijsheid die ze in zich dragen.<\/p>\n

Over de maker<\/strong><\/p>\n

Juanita Onzaga is een Belgisch-Colombiaanse filmmaker die in 2016 een VAF Wildcard<\/strong> won met haar afstudeerfilm, de korte documentaire The Jungle Knows You Better Than You Do<\/em>, die nadien voor de Berlinale geselecteerd werd en daar met de Speciale Prijs van de Generation 14plus-jury werd bekroond. Een volgende film, Our Song To War<\/em>, werd uitgenodigd voor de Quinzaine des R\u00e9alisateurs in Cannes.<\/p>\n
