Bij ons beleeft de film zijn\u00a0Belgische premi\u00e8re\u00a0op\u00a0Film Fest Gent (10-21 oktober).\u00a0<\/strong><strong><em>Here<\/em>\u00a0ging eerder dit jaar in wereldpremi\u00e8re op het Internationaal Filmfestival van Berlijn en werd er\u00a0bekroond met de Prijs voor Beste Film van de Encounters-competitie en de Fipresci Award.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De vierde speelfilm van Bas Devos is ondertussen uitgegroeid tot een festivalfavoriet met tal van selecties en prijzen. Eerder deze week maakte het New York Film Festival (29 september-15 oktober) bekend dat <em>Here<\/em> ook bij hen\u00a0op het hoofdprogramma staat. Het Wavelengths programma van Toronto staat voor gedurfde en grensverleggende cinema.\u00a0Na de Belgische premi\u00e8re in Gent\u00a0brengt distributeur Imagine de film rond de jaarwisseling bij ons in de zalen.<\/p>\n<p>In <em>Here<\/em> volgen we een Roemeense bouwvakker die in Brussel woont en op het punt staat terug naar zijn geboorteland te keren. Voor zijn vertrek kookt hij een grote pot soep met restjes uit zijn koelkast, om als afscheidscadeau uit te delen\u00a0aan vrienden en familie. Dan ontmoet hij een Belgisch-Chinese doctorandus die mossen bestudeert, wat leidt tot een potentieel liefdesverhaal. Haar interesse in het nauwelijks zichtbare doet hem verstomd staan.<\/p>\n<p>De hoofdrollen in <em>Here<\/em> worden vertolkt door Liyo Gong en Stefan Gota. Net als bij de vorige speelfilm van Devos<em>, Ghost Tropic<\/em>, is de originele score voor Here van Brecht Ameel.\u00a0Het scenario en de regie zijn van Bas Devos, de productie is van Marc Goyens voor Quetzalcoatl, met de steun van kunstencentrum BUDA, kunstencentrum nona, 1080 Productions,\u00a0Proximus en\u00a0Shelterprod i.s.m. Taxshelter.be en ING.
