Joel Coen waagde zich twee jaar geleden al aan de sombere Shakespeare-verfilming <em>The Tragedy of McBeth<\/em>. Ethan Coen kiest met <em>Drive-Away Dolls<\/em> nu eerder voor een komische en criminele road movie.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De film volgt twee jonge vrouwen, Marian en Jamie (respectievelijk gespeeld door Geraldine Viswanathan en Margaret Qualley), die beslissen om er even tussenuit te gaan. Tenslotte heeft de brave Marian nood aan een beetje rust en heeft fuifbeest Jamie het net uitgemaakt met haar vriendin. Dus vertrekken de twee op een ge\u00efmproviseerde roadtrip van Philadelphia naar Tallahassee in Florida.
