De Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), de organisatie achter de Oscars<\/strong>\u00ae, verwelkomt Lukas Dhont, zijn coscenarist Angelo Tijssens en zijn monteur Alain Dessauvage als lid. Het trio staat op de lijst van 398 namen die dit jaar een uitnodiging voor het Academy-lidmaatschap\u00a0in de bus kregen. Zij werden voorgedragen door AMPAS-leden op basis van hun bijdragen aan de filmindustrie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“De Academy is er trots op deze artiesten en professionals als lid te mogen verwelkomen. Zij vertegenwoordigen buitengewoon talent in alle filmdisciplines en hebben een essenti\u00eble impact gehad op de kunsten en wetenschappen van de film en op filmfans wereldwijd”, aldus Bill Kramer, CEO van de Academy, en Janet Yang, president van de Academy.<\/p>\n

De erkenning volgt een dag nadat Close<\/em>\u00a0om het\u00a0Europees Parlement in Brussel\u00a0de LUX-publieksprijs on ontvangst mocht nemen.<\/p>\n

De selectie van de leden is gebaseerd op professionele kwalificaties, waarbij een voortdurende inzet voor vertegenwoordiging, inclusie en gelijkheid een prioriteit blijft.<\/p>\n

Van de nieuwe 2023-leden is 40% vrouw, 34% behoort tot een ondervertegenwoordigde etnische\/raciale gemeenschap en 52% is afkomstig uit 50 landen en gebieden buiten de Verenigde Staten. Er zijn 76 Oscar\u00ae genomineerden, waaronder 22 winnaars, onder de genodigden.<\/p>\n

Op de lijst staan ook regisseurs Colm Bair\u00e9ad (The Quiet Girl<\/em>), Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front<\/em>) and Santiago Mitre (Argentina 1985<\/em>) die eerder dit jaar samen met Lukas Dhont streden in de categorie voor de Oscar voor Best International Feature dit jaar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
