Het festival streeft naar een correcte beeldvorming van mensen met een beperking en doet dit aan de hand van filmvertoningen, lezingen en workshops.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dit jaar selecteerde het festival enkele goede films en documentaires die gevoelige thema\u2019s aankaarten. De slotavond van het DisABILITY filmfestival zal volledig in teken staan van kortfilms. Deze competitie wordt in goede banen geleid door enkele studenten van de opleiding Culturele Studies, zij hebben drie nationale en drie internationale kortfilms geselecteerd.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>De nationale kortfilms zijn:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Grinta<\/em> van\u00a0<strong>Nils Vanderwaeren<\/strong>: Grinta toont de wereld door de ogen van Kenneth, een jongen die worstelt met multiple sclerose en dit nog steeds verborgen houdt voor de mensen om hem heen. Tijdens een voetbalwedstrijd staat hij voor een keerpunt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Grinta ontving eerder al\u00a0de &#8216;pitch your film award&#8217; van Sabam op het kortfilmfestival van Leuven in 2021. De regisseur studeerde vorig jaar af aan <strong>LUCA School of Arts<\/strong>. De film was een zeer persoonlijk project voor hem, tien jaar geleden werd namelijk bij zijn moeder MS vastgesteld.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"x1bwycvy x193iq5w x4fas0m x19kjcj4\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-bru2-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t39.30808-6\/313422077_964868618250693_4608390721446567588_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&amp;ccb=1-7&amp;_nc_sid=730e14&amp;_nc_ohc=MtIYOcMz4v0AX-s4GNw&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-bru2-1.xx&amp;oh=00_AfAp4N_3IER4_6tmNCUdWZ7m-KHryBOZ08Pi6AkQPD5D5A&amp;oe=645868E5\" alt=\"Geen fotobeschrijving beschikbaar.\" width=\"597\" height=\"746\" data-visualcompletion=\"media-vc-image\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Winking Out<\/em> van <strong>Juliette Mauduit<\/strong>: Deze kortfilm vertelt de ervaring van een epileptische aanval binnenuit. Door middel van film zet Mauduit de symptomen en na-effecten om in artistieke vorm, waardoor een nog weinig bekende ziekte zichtbaar wordt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"L&#039;\u00eatre clignotant \/ Winking out - Teaser\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/747690867?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"618\" height=\"348\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><em><em><em><em><em><em><em>Ocean d&#8217; amour: fragments d&#8217;un journal intime trouv\u00e9\u00a0<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em>van <strong>Jolke van Aerde<\/strong>: De film vertelt een sprookje over een meisje dat zich niet thuis voelt in de wereld om haar heen. De film is gebaseerd op een semi-autobiografisch kortverhaal van <strong>Ines Tambuyser<\/strong>, die zelf ook de hoofdrol vervult.
