Omen<\/em>, Baloji’s eerste speelfilm, maakt deel uit van de offici\u00eble selectie op het filmfestival van Cannes, in de sectie Un Certain Regard!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Baloji Tshiani<\/strong>, een multi-getalenteerd Belgisch-Congolese artiest, zal zijn eerste speelfilm Omen (Augure)<\/em>, presenteren op het filmfestival van Cannes<\/strong>, met in de hoofdrollen Marc Zinga, Lucie Debay, Eliane Umuhire<\/strong> en Yves-Marina Gnahoua<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

De film schetst het portret van Koffi, vertolkt door Marc Zinga. Beschouwd als een zabolo (tovenaar), werd hij verbannen door zijn moeder. Na 15 jaar afwezigheid keert hij terug naar Lubumbashi om zijn bruidsschat te betalen. Vergezeld door zijn toekomstige vrouw Alice gaat hij de confrontatie aan met de vooroordelen en achterdocht van zijn familie.<\/p>\n

\"Augure-Baloji\"<\/p>\n

Baloji begon zijn carri\u00e8re begin jaren 2000 bij de cultgroep Starflam<\/strong>. Als Auteur en muzikant maakte hij vervolgens drie albums, die wereldwijd werden verspreid, waarbij hij een muzikaal maar ook een sterk artistiek universum ontplooit.<\/p>\n

Hij regisseerde verschillende muziekvideo’s en kortfilms. Kaniama Show<\/em> won de Special Jury Prize op het Festival van Namen en Zombies<\/em> werd geselecteerd voor de prestigieuze festivals van Clermont-Ferrand, Londen en Rotterdam.<\/p>\n

Als acteur mocht hij een rolletje spelen in Rundskop<\/em> (2011) van Micha\u00ebl R. Roskam<\/strong> en in Binti<\/em> van Frederike Migom<\/strong>, waarvoor hij ook genomineerd werd voor de Magritte du Cin\u00e9ma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
