Alex Verhaest staat met haar kortfilm Society<\/em> in de Nationale Competitie van het Brussels Short Film Festival! Society<\/em> neemt het op tegen 36 andere ingezonden kortfilms!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Society<\/em> vertelt een kauw het verhaal van hem en zijn vier vrienden die samenwonen. Het zou een vredig leven zijn, ware het niet dat een zesde voortdurend probeert mee te doen. De vijf kennen haar niet, maar ze kennen elkaar ook niet echt. Maar wat voor de vijf acceptabel is, is dat niet voor de zesde. Hoe kunnen ze dit uitleggen aan de zesde?<\/p>\n

Society<\/em> is een metaforisch sprookje dat zich afspeelt in een post-klimaatramp. De hoofdrollen worden vervuld door de Noorse\u00a0Ingrid Liavaag<\/strong> (Arctic Void)<\/span><\/em>, Idries Bensbaho\u00a0<\/strong>(Cool Abdoul)<\/em>, Valentijn Dhaenens <\/strong>(Zeevonk)<\/em>, Anemone Valcke <\/strong>(<\/em>Aller\/Retour)\u00a0<\/em>en Andie Dushime<\/strong> (Lam Gods)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

De film\u00a0ging in premi\u00e8re op het Kortfilmfestival Leuven <\/strong>en\u00a0nam deel in de nationale competitie\u00a0<\/strong>in de categorie fictie.<\/p>\n

\"Society,<\/p>\n

Alex Verhaest<\/strong> is gericht op verhaal en wordt be\u00efnvloed door cinema en videogames. Met elke nieuwe film duikt Verhaest in wat het betekent om films te maken in een post-Nintendo maatschappij met meerdere schermen.<\/p>\n

Verhaest maakte eerder ook de kortfilm\u00a0Nesting,\u00a0<\/em>deze kreeg een\u00a0speciale juryvermelding op het Brussels Short Film Festival 2021.\u00a0Alex verdiepte zich ook in creatieve videogames en maakte zo Ad Hominem<\/em>. In de virtuele wereld worden spelers in de rol van personage De Verandering geplaatst. De keuzes die de speler maakt, bepalen of de wereld verandert in een utopie of dystopie. In de kies-je-eigen-avontuur-game moeten gamers zich een weg banen door een matrix van historische citaten over collectivisme, individualisme, progressief denken en conservatisme.<\/p>\n
