Hiermee wist hij een Academy Award nominatie voor Beste Korte Speelfilm in de wacht te slepen. De Koerdisch-Belgische filmmaker won eerder al de Ensor voor Beste Film en Beste Screenplay voor zijn eerste langspeelfilm <em>Zagros<\/em> (2017).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_249084\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-249084\" style=\"width: 601px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-249084\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DSC9619-480x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"338\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-249084\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hamoudi (met prothese) en Sahim op FFO.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>De film vertelt het verhaal van de 10-jarige Hamoudi die in Baghdad woont.\u00a0Een voetbalmatch tussen kinderen krijgt een gruwelijke wending. Nog voor het laatste fluitsignaal wordt het dorp waar Hamoudi leeft, aangevallen. In een klap verliest de jongen een been \u00e9n zijn droom om professioneel voetballer te worden.
