Samen met 14 andere kandidaten prijkt de Belgische Oscarinzending op de shortlist in de categorie van Beste Internationale Speelfilm die de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS)\u00a0zojuist bekendmaakte. Op 24 januari weten we of <em>Close<\/em> ook bij de vijf genomineerden zal zijn.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Close<\/em>\u00a0ging dit jaar in wereldpremi\u00e8re op het Festival van Cannes, waar de film\u00a0bekroond werd met de Grand Prix du Jury. Sindsdien loopt het internationaal als een trein voor <strong>Lukas Dhonts<\/strong> tweede speelfilm, met tientallen internationale festivalselecties en tal van prijzen.<\/p>\n<p>In september werd <em>Close<\/em> aangeduid\u00a0als offici\u00eble\u00a0Belgische Oscarinzending en in oktober mocht hij\u00a0het Film Fest Gent officieel openen. De film loopt sinds begin november bij ons in de bioscoop, en telt volgens distributeur Lumi\u00e8re\u00a0ondertussen al ruim 190.000\u00a0bezoekers.<\/p>\n<p>In de VS wordt er met het oog op de Oscars de volgende weken\u00a0onvermoeid verder\u00a0campagne gevoerd, met vertoningen voor AMPAS-leden en &#8220;tastemakers&#8221;\u00a0in o.a. Los Angeles en New York.<\/p>\n<p>De film is ook beschikbaar op The Academy Screening Room, het online platform waar leden exclusief toegang tot hebben.\u00a0Tijdens de volgende weken worden alle\u00a0leden uitgenodigd om uit de 15 op de shortlist vermelde titels vijf films te nomineren die dan strijden voor de Academy Award voor Beste Internationale Speelfilm. Op 24 januari worden de nominaties bekendgemaakt.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-248378 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinevox.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/unnamed-3-270x270.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/unnamed-3-270x270.png 270w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/unnamed-3-600x600.png 600w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/unnamed-3-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/welovecinema.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/12\/unnamed-3.png 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Close<\/em> wordt in de VS\u00a0vertegenwoordigd\u00a0door de\u00a0zeer trendy boutique arthouseverdeler\u00a0A24 die er de film eind januari uitbrengt.<\/p>\n<p>Het is alweer geleden van\u00a0<em>The Broken Circle Breakdown<\/em> (2013,<strong> Felix van Groeningen<\/strong>) dat een Vlaamse speelfilm een nominatie voor de Oscars in de wacht kon slepen. Daarvoor waren ook\u00a0<em>Rundskop<\/em> (2011, <strong>Micha\u00ebl R. Roskam<\/strong>), <em>Iedereen beroemd!<\/em> (2000, <strong>Dominique Deruddere<\/strong>) en <em>Daens<\/em>(1992, <strong>Stijn Coninx<\/strong>) genomineerd. De korte animatiefilm <em>Een Griekse tragedie<\/em> van <strong>Nicole Van Goethem<\/strong> (1985) is tot op vandaag de enige\u00a0titel die het felbegeerde gouden beeldje ooit mee naar Belgi\u00eb mocht nemen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Close<\/em> is een productie van Menuet, Diaphana Films, Topkapi Films en Versus Production in coproductie met vtm en RTBF en met de steun van het Nederlands Filmfonds (NFF) en het Netherlands Film Production Incentive, het Centre du Cin\u00e9ma et de l\u2019Audiovisuel de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Wallonie-Bruxelles, Canal+, Cin\u00e9+, Sacem en Eurimages, met de hulp van de Tax Shelter Maatregel van de Belgische Federale Overheid en Casa Kafka Pictures.<\/p>\n<p><em>Close<\/em> kwam\u00a0tot stand met de steun van het VAF\/Filmfonds van Vlaams minister van Cultuur Jan Jambon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Close van Lukas Dhont blijft in de running voor een Academy Award.
