Achttien<\/em>\u00a0is een kortfilm van Dimitri Baronheid<\/strong> en Olivier Lambrechts<\/strong> over een jongen die op zijn achttiende, na jaren in een jeugdinstelling, opnieuw gecontacteerd wordt door zijn moeder. Geeft hij haar een kans?<\/p>\n

De hoofdrol is voor Mistral Guidotti <\/strong>(Home<\/em>), hij wordt bijgestaan door o.a.\u00a0 Laurence Roothooft<\/strong>\u00a0(Marsman<\/em>) en\u00a0Noa Tambwe Kabati <\/strong>(Nowhere<\/em>).<\/p>\n

De film was eerder al geselecteerd voor\u00a0Kortfilmfestival<\/strong> Leuven 2020 en stond op het programma van het Palm Springs International ShortFest in Californi\u00eb.<\/p>\n

In de week van de Ensors (7 tot 13 maart) richtte VRT NU met de themapagina\u00a0‘Week van de Vlaamse film’ de spotlights op het beste dat de Vlaamse film te bieden heeft. Achttien<\/em> hoort bij die selectie.<\/p>\n

Micha\u00ebl Pas<\/strong>\u00a0ontving in de eerste aflevering van\u00a0Cinema Canvas<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0op dinsdag 8 maart, \u00e9\u00e9n van de spelers uit Achttien.<\/em> Noa Tambwe Kabati<\/strong> kan je binnenkort namelijk samen met\u00a0Koen De Bouw<\/strong>\u00a0zien schitteren in Nowhere<\/em>\u00a0van Peter Monsaert<\/strong>, de openingsfilm van\u00a0Filmfestival Oostende<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Net als in Achttien<\/em>\u00a0komt\u00a0in Nowhere<\/em>\u00a0ook datzelfde thema weer aan bod: jongeren met een moeilijke achtergrond. Peter Monsaert hielp Dimitri Baronheid en Olivier Lambrechts trouwens bij het maken van hun kortfilm.<\/p>\n
