Ze kozen unaniem voor\u00a0<em>Un monde<\/em>, geregisseerd door Laura Wandel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zoals ieder jaar, stuurt elk land in de categorie Beste Internationale Film (vroeger Best Foreign Language) zijn selectie door naar de Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). De film\u00a0die Belgi\u00eb\u00a0vertegenwoordigt, wordt verkozen door een nationale commissie, evenwaardig samengesteld met\u00a0leden van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap en leden van de Waals-Brusselse Federatie. De\u00a0audities en deliberaties vonden deze ochtend plaats. Met unanimiteit werd door de jury <em>Un Monde<\/em> van<strong> Laura Wandel<\/strong> verkozen om Belgi\u00eb te\u00a0vertegenwoordigen op de belangrijkste Amerikaanse ceremonie van de filmindustrie.<\/p>\n<p><em>Un Monde<\/em> is het regiedebuut van de jonge Brusselse Laura Wandel. De film kende zijn eerste wereldpremi\u00e8re op het filmfestival van Cannes in de selectie Un Certain Regard, waar hij bekroond werd met de FIPRESCI &#8211; prijs. \u00a0Sindsdien gaat het de film voor de wind, met selecties op menig festival, waaronder San Sebastian,\u00a0 El Gouna, Hamburg en Sarajevo. Recentelijk werd ook bekend gemaakt dat de film op het Londense Filmfestival BFI de prijs voor het Beste Debuut in de wacht sleepte; een prijs\u00a0die eerder ook werd gewonnen door o.a.<em> Girl<\/em> van <strong>Lukas Dhont<\/strong>. \u00a0De film is ook genomineerd in de categorie European Discovery op de European Film Awards.\u00a0\u00a0Ondertussen is de film verkocht aan een vijftien \u2013 tal landen waaronder o.a. de Verenigde Staten.<\/p>\n<p>Het is nog even wachten tot februari om de lijst van alle genomineerde films te kennen. De 94ste ceremonie van de Oscars vindt plaats op 27 maart 2022 in het Dolby Theatre van Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ik ben ontzettend trots dat <em>Un Monde<\/em> werd verkozen als Belgische inzending voor\u00a0de Oscars. Deze selectie is voor mij des te belangrijker omdat de film volledig geproduceerd en gerealiseerd werd in Belgi\u00eb, met een 100 % Vlaamse en Franstalige productie en filmcrew.&#8221;, aldus een bijzonder opgetogen Laura Wandel.<\/p>\n<p><em>Un Monde<\/em>\u00a0is geschreven en geregisseerd door Laura Wandel. Terwijl haar vader wil dat ze spreekt, wil haar broer dat ze zwijgt.\u00a0Nora hoopt vooral nieuwe vrienden te maken, waardoor ze voor een verscheurende keuze staat.\u00a0Een meeslepende duik in het\u00a0niet zo onschuldige leven op school.<\/p>\n<p><em>Un Monde<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0een 100% Belgische productie, met als hoofdproducent\u00a0Dragons Films en coproducent het Gentse productiehuis<strong> Lunanime<\/strong>. De film kwam tot stand met steun van\u00a0Centre du Cin\u00e9ma et de l&#8217;Audiovisuel de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Wallonie-Bruxelles, het\u00a0Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF), Wallimage, VOO &amp; BeTV, Lumi\u00e8re Invest &amp;\u00a0Tax Shelter van de Belgische Overheid. De internationale sales is in handen van Indiesales &amp; Lumi\u00e8re verdeelt de film in de Benelux.
