Rookie<\/em> gaat vandaag in premi\u00e8re op de derde FFO Night van Filmfestival Oostende, 6 en 7 september kan je hem gaan bekijken op Brussels International Film Festival en vanaf 8 september draait hij in alle zalen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rookie<\/em> is het speelfilmdebuut\u00a0van\u00a0regisseur Lieven Van Baelen<\/strong>. De hoofdrollen worden vertolkt door\u00a0Matteo Simoni<\/strong>, Veerle Baetens<\/strong> en Valentijn Braeckman<\/strong>. In de supporting roles zien we\u00a0Stefaan Degand<\/strong>, Tibo Vandenborre<\/strong> & Bjarne Devolder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rookie<\/em> volgt het verhaal van Nicky (Matteo Simoni<\/strong>), een jonge ambitieuze en zelfverzekerde motorrijder pur sang. Elke race zet hij zijn leven op het spel, niet voor geld maar voor de kicks, het respect en de roem. Zijn wereld stort onverwachts in wanneer hij door een ongeval nooit meer zal kunnen racen. Hij slaagt er niet in dit nieuwe leven te aanvaarden en zoekt steun om een frisse start te nemen bij zijn schoonzus Vero (Veerle Baetens<\/strong>) en haar zoon Charlie (Valentijn Braeckman<\/strong>). Maar de roep van adrenaline en kicks steekt al snel weer de kop op. Via zijn neefje Charlie probeert Nicky zijn droom alsnog te beleven. Het wordt al gauw duidelijk dat Charlie niet uit hetzelfde hout gesneden is.<\/p>\n
