<\/strong>Drie surrealistische films vormen We Are Open 2021. In dit\u00a0cinematic universe<\/em>\u00a0kruisen muziek en cinema elkaars pad. We verslepen de schijnwerpers van onze podia naar de filmset, maar ze staan nog steeds gericht op ons Belgisch muzikaal talent.<\/div>\n

\nJudith Kiddo, Teen Creeps \u00a0<\/strong>en\u00a0YellowStraps<\/strong>\u00a0zijn de sterren van het tweede deel\u00a0An Uncut Nightmare by the Sea<\/strong><\/em>. In een parallel universum zoeken ze naar antwoorden op vragen die niet bestaan.<\/p>\n

De regie van alle drie de films gebeurde door Charlotte De Cort<\/strong> en Tobi Jonson, <\/strong>die\u00a0in het verleden al samenwerkten met Dolly Bing Bing, J. Bernardt,\u00a0Nordmann, Jaouad en Eefje De Visser. Tobi Jonson won voor die laatste, de concertfilm\u00a0Bitterzoet<\/em>, bij de Red Bull Elektropedia Awards de prijs voor beste video.<\/p>\n

Artwork werd verzorgd door Broos Stoffels\u00a0<\/strong>en de fotografie door Illias Teirlinck.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Lost In Terror<\/em>, de eerste film, staat sinds vorige week online, de derde volgt op 21 april. Telkens via weareopen.be<\/strong><\/a><\/u><\/div>\n

JUDITH KIDDO<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Judith Kiddo kwam\u00a0vorig jaar met haar eerste EP Petit Chien<\/strong>, waarop ze heerlijk compromisloos haar eclectische invloeden en diep instinctieve relatie met songwriting toont. Aan de oppervlakte hoor je synthpop, maar je zal zien hoe snel Judith Kiddo je meeneemt in haar zoete waanzin<\/strong>. Ook op het podium is er geen ontkomen aan de rauwe, ultragevoelige en stralende aanwezigheid van Judith, omringd door muzikanten die je kent van Le Colis\u00e9e, Aksak Maboul <\/strong>of Steve Gunn<\/strong>. Ook Lucien Fraipont van Robbing Millions<\/strong>\u00a0versterkt hen live.<\/p>\n

TEEN CREEPS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Met hun gloednieuwe album \u2018Forever<\/strong>\u2019 zet het indierocktrio Teen Creeps zichzelf in koppositie voor 2021<\/strong>. Op hun opvolger op \u2018Birthmarks\u2019 uit 2018 behouden de Gentenaren hun 90s alt-rocksound<\/strong>, hetzij verfijnder en met een hernieuwde energie.<\/p>\n

Hun muziek bevindt zich ergens tussen melodie en agressie en werd al omschreven als “Guided By Voices, maar agressiever<\/strong>” en “Fugazi, maar dan stiekem goedgezind<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

YELLOWSTRAPS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In 2014 won YellowStraps de Red Bull Elektropedia Award<\/strong> voor Most Promising Artist<\/strong>. In 2019 kregen ze hun\u00a0eigen sessie op Colors<\/strong>, een internationaal muziekplatform waarop ook Billie Eilish, Jorja Smith en Ang\u00e8le<\/strong>passeerden.<\/p>\n

Vorig jaar\u00a0overklasten ze met maar liefst twee releases: Goldress en Yellockdown Project<\/strong>, waarop ze hun hiphop heerlijk doorspekken met elektronica en jazz.
