Voor de opnames van zijn nieuwste film ging hij draaien op locatie in zijn geboorteland Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><em>Da Yie<\/em> gaat over een vreemdeling die de opdracht krijgt om in Ghana kinderen te ronselen voor een risicovolle baan. Hij vindt er Prince en Mathilda, twee levendige kinderen, en brengt die naar zijn bende. Al snel begint hij zijn beslissing in twijfel te trekken, uit bezorgdheid over hoe dit het leven van de kinderen drastisch zou kunnen be\u00efnvloeden\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>Da Yie<\/em> werd in Belgi\u00eb al geselecteerd voor het Film Fest Gent en het Internationaal Kortfilmfestival Leuven. In Gent mocht de film naar huis met de Publieksprijs van de Studentenkortfilmcompetitie, in Leuven werd hij bekroond als Beste Film in de Vlaamse Competitie. Door die laatste prijs is <em>Da Yie<\/em> automatisch opgenomen op de longlist voor de Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Nti schreef het scenario voor <em>Da Yie<\/em> samen met Chingiz Karibekov. De productie is van Caviar.\u00a0Nti is momenteel ook als co-regisseur betrokken bij de productie van Ketnet-reeks <em>Hoodie<\/em> en werd recent nog geselecteerd\u00a0om deel te nemen Talent Village, een programma voor getalenteerde jonge filmmakers van het Filmfestival van Les Arcs.<\/p>\n<p>Naast Anthony Nti valt nog een Vlaamse naam op in het programma van Clermont-Ferrand: <em>Freeze Frame<\/em>, geselecteerd voor de Labo-competitie. Regisseur Soetkin Verstegen studeerde film aan LUCA School of Arts (Campus Sint-Lukas Brussel) maar werkt momenteel vooral in het buitenland. <em>Freeze Frame<\/em> is een Duits-Finse productie die op locatie in Duitsland gedraaid werd.<\/p>\n<p>De 42ste editie van het Festival du Court M\u00e9trage de Clermont-Ferrand loopt van 31 januari tot 8 februari 2020.
