Het titelpersonage Dorien heeft alles om gelukkig te zijn: een succesvolle man, twee schattige kinderen en een dierenartsenpraktijk vol kleine huisdieren. Maar wanneer ze haar ouders betrapt op jarenlang overspel en haar man wel erg close blijkt te zijn met een collega, begint ze te twijfelen. Een telefoontje met slecht nieuws is de druppel. Ze voelt zich verloren, kan bij niemand terecht. Dorien evalueert haar leven, is dit het dan?<\/p>\n<p>Hoofdrolspelers Kim Snauwaert en Jelle De Beule maken in <em>The Best of Dorien B.<\/em> hun debuut op het grote scherm. Daarnaast zijn er bijrollen voor Katelijne Verbeke, Wine Dierickx en Dirk Van Dijck. De fotografie is van David Williamson, Axel Skovdal Roelofs monteerde en Rutger Reinders zorgde voor de muziek. Anke Blond\u00e9 schreef het scenario voor haar speelfilmdebuut samen met Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem. De productie is van Dries Phlypo voor A Private View (<em>Zagros<\/em>, <em>Vincent<\/em>, <em>Aanrijding in Moscou<\/em>), in coproductie met het Nederlandse Viking Film.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Best of Dorien B.<\/em> ging eind januari in wereldpremi\u00e8re als openingsfilm van de Big Screen Competition van het Internationaal Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR Voices-sectie). Begin juni maakt de film deel uit van Europe! Voices of Women in Film, een showcase van opmerkelijke films van vrouwelijke Europese regisseurs tijdens het Sydney Film Festival in Australi\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>Op 6 september beleeft <em>The Best of Dorien B.<\/em> zijn Belgische premi\u00e8re als openingsfilm van het Filmfestival Oostende. Enkele dagen later, op 11 september, brengt Kinepolis Film Distribution de film in de Belgische zalen. Sales agent BE For Films verkoopt de film internationaal.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Best of Dorien B. <\/em>kwam tot stand met steun van het VAF\/Filmfonds.
