Regisseur Lukas Dhont, co-scenarist Angelo Tijssens,\u00a0monteur Alain Dessauvage en de stemcoach van Victor Polster Katrien Eerdekens werden na de vertoning door Charlotte Vandermeersch aan het publiek voorgesteld en ge\u00efnterviewd.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2018Girl\u2019<em>\u00a0<\/em>vertelt het verhaal van de\u00a015-jarige Lara, die het wil maken als ballerina en die samen met haar vader de wereld trotseert. Maar haar lichaam stribbelt tegen, want Lara is geboren als jongen.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lukas Dhont tijdens DVD-release van &#039;Girl&#039;\" width=\"618\" height=\"348\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yllJGIZCCUg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Op 9 oktober 2018 opende de debuutfilm van de Gentse regisseur Lukas Dhont de 45e editie van Film Fest Gent onder luid applaus en met lovende recensies. Ook het acteerdebuut van Victor Polster werd bijzonder enthousiast ontvangen.\u00a0Met net iets meer dan 270.000 bezoekers is\u00a0\u2018Girl\u2019<em>\u00a0<\/em>d\u00e9 filmrevelatie van de laatste jaren in Belgi\u00eb, maar zonder twijfel ook in de rest van Europa.\u00a0Sinds de wereldpremi\u00e8re in Cannes, waar\u00a0\u2018Girl\u2019<em>\u00a0<\/em>naar huis ging met vier prijzen, waaronder de Cam\u00e9ra d\u2019Or voor beste debuut, begon de film\u00a0aan een indrukwekkende internationale festivalcarri\u00e8re: de\u00a0nominatie voor een Golden Globe voor Beste niet-Engelstalige film als volgend\u00a0hoogtepunt, in december de European Discovery Award en recent\u00a0een nominatie voor de\u00a0Franse filmprijs C\u00e9sar.<\/p>\n<p>Nu is de film dus ook verkrijgbaar op DVD en Blu-Ray.
