Vlaamse acteertrots en Master van het Filmfestival Oostende 2013 Johan Heldenbergh is te zien aan de zijde van o.m. tweevoudig Oscar-winnares Hilary Swank en topactrice Helena Bonham Carter. De film had een aanzienlijk deel Belgische crew op de set, waaronder Merijn Sep (Production Design) en Charlotte Willems (Costume Design).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Hilary Swank speelt een vastberaden advocate in San Francisco die een einde aan het wangedrag in een psychiatrische instelling wil maken. In deze film, die gebaseerd is op waargebeurde feiten, raakt ze bevriend met de excentrieke pati\u00ebnte Eleanor, meesterlijk vertolkt door Helena Bonham Carter. Een pakkend verhaal over vriendschap en doorzettingsvermogen.<\/p>\n<p>Voor het scenario baseerde scenarist <strong>Mark Bruce Rosin<\/strong> zich op de buitengewone vriendschap tussen Colette Hughes en Eleanor Riese, die eind de jaren 1980 in de VS streden voor de rechten van psychiatrische pati\u00ebnten.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Met deze film breng ik het extraordinaire verhaal over een unieke vriendschap tussen twee vrouwen die op het eerste zicht niets gemeen hebben. Het project kwam mede tot stand met de steun van BNP Paribas Fortis Film Finance en Screen Flanders.<\/p>\n<p>Eleanor &amp; Colette wordt vertoond op zaterdag 8 september om 20u in Kinepolis Oostende.
