‘Sons of No One’<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

De 21-minuten durende kortfilm speelt zich af in een gesloten instelling voor jongeren waar een opvoedster, Eva, probeert te vechten voor wat zij gelooft juist te zijn. Na een verdacht incident tussen een bewaker en een van de jongens, begint ze de versie van de feiten van de bewaker in vraag te stellen.<\/p>\n

‘Sons of No One’ is het afstudeerproject van Vannetelbosch aan de LUCA School of Arts in Brussel; eerder regisseerde hij al de kortfilms ‘Patient’<\/em> en ‘Penitence’<\/em>. Naast de regie schreef Vannetelbosch ook zelf het scenario. De fotografie van de film was in handen van Lino De Koninck<\/strong>, terwijl de montage gedaan werd door Joris Vertenten<\/strong> en Antoine Duwaerts<\/strong> instond voor het geluid.<\/p>\n

‘Girlhood’<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

De tweede plaats van de Publieksprijs was weggelegd voor ‘Girlhood’<\/em> van Heleen Declercq<\/strong> (RITCS), terwijl ‘Poor Kids’<\/em> van Michiel Dhont<\/strong> (KASK) de top drie afsloot.<\/p>\n

Film Fest Gent organiseerde dit jaar voor de zevende keer de Competitie voor Beste Belgische Studentenkortfilm, waaraan studenten uit de erkende Vlaamse, Waalse en Brusselse filmscholen kunnen deelnemen. Binnen de competitie worden twee prijzen uitgereikt, waarbij het publiek de winnaar bepaalt van de Publieksprijs. In samenwerking met het Brusselse postproductiehuis ACE Image Factory + The Fridge kan de laureaat rekenen op een budget van \u20ac7.500 voor de postproductie van een volgend filmproject.<\/p>\n

Naast de Publieksprijs reikt een professionele jury ook de Nationale Loterij Prijs voor Beste Belgische Studentenkortfilm t.w.v. \u20ac2.000 uit aan een van de tien films geselecteerd voor de kortfilmcompetitie. Die jury bestaat dit jaar uit journalist Nicolas Gilson<\/strong>, producent Jules Debrock<\/strong>, regisseur Imge \u00d6zbilge<\/strong>, muzikant Frederik Sioen<\/strong> en actrice Salom\u00e9 Richard<\/strong>. Welke film de prijs uiteindelijk mee naar huis neemt, wordt op 20 oktober bekendgemaakt tijdens de offici\u00eble prijsuitreiking op de slotavond van Film Fest Gent.<\/p>\n
