Il se voit offrir la chance de revivre s&rsquo;il capture les ombres de 10 000 autres personnes.<br \/>\nIl pense que c&rsquo;est ais\u00e9, qu&rsquo;il lui suffit de trouver le nom d&rsquo;un homme ou d&rsquo;une femme, d&rsquo;en choisir sa mort et d&rsquo;en capturer l&rsquo;ombre lors du passage de la vie \u00e0 la mort. Il se souvient de Sarah Winters qui l&rsquo;a aid\u00e9 juste avant sa mort et de son amour pour elle. Sa mission prend alors un autre sens.<br \/>\nQuand il doit capturer l&rsquo;ombre de Thomas Belcourt, il remarque que Sarah est amoureuse d&rsquo;un autre soldat, Daniel Hainaut. Il devient jaloux et se rend alors compte qu&rsquo;il ne doit plus capturer qu&rsquo;une seule ombre avant qu&rsquo;il ne puisse revivre. De retour chez elle, elle doit faire face \u00e0 une convalescence p\u00e9nible. Son corps bien s\u00fbr, et son esprit surtout, portent encore les stigmates de l&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e8nement.
