Et bien il planche activement sur son deuxi\u00e8me film am\u00e9ricain, <em>The Prince of War<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En effet, Imperative Entertainment (les producteurs de Clint Eastwood ou Ridley Scott, excusez-du peu) vient de confirmer son attachement au projet <em>The Prince of War<\/em>, qui retracera l&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire mouvement\u00e9 d&rsquo;Erik Prince, ancien membre des forces sp\u00e9ciales de l&rsquo;US Navy, cr\u00e9ateur de Blackwater, la plus grande soci\u00e9t\u00e9 militaire priv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1997, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 multiplie les contrats pour le gouvernement am\u00e9ricain et la CIA, contrats class\u00e9s secret d\u00e9fense. Mais Blackwater fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;investigations, soup\u00e7onn\u00e9 d&rsquo;avoir effectu\u00e9 des missions pour le compte de la CIA lors desquelles de nombreux meurtres auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 commis. Le film est bas\u00e9 sur les m\u00e9moires d&rsquo;Erik Prince, ainsi que sur une enqu\u00eate d&rsquo;un journaliste de Vanity Fair. L&rsquo;id\u00e9e derri\u00e8re le film est d&rsquo;explorer les tenants et les aboutissants de la guerre 2.0, et des convergences dangereuses entre capitalisme et patriotisme.<\/p>\n<p>On imagine ais\u00e9ment que le r\u00f4le complexe d&rsquo;Erik Prince devrait attirer de grands noms au casting. Micha\u00ebl R. Roskam a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9\u00e9criture du sc\u00e9nario original sign\u00e9 Stuart Beattie (Collateral).<\/p>\n<p>Un retour \u00e0 la case Etats-Unis pour Micha\u00ebl R. Roskam, alors qu&rsquo;on l&rsquo;attendant sur un biopic de la com\u00e9dienne Sylvia Kristel \u00e9crit avec Dimitri Verhulst (dont les livres ont inspir\u00e9 <em>La Merditude des Choses, Un ange<\/em> et <em>Problemski Hotel<\/em>). Il y retourne donc apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9alis\u00e9 <em>Le Fid\u00e8le<\/em> (et deux \u00e9pisodes de la s\u00e9rie<em> Berlin Station<\/em>). En 2013, aur\u00e9ol\u00e9 du succ\u00e8s de <em>Rundskop<\/em>, il y tournait <em>The Drop<\/em>, sombre thriller avec Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini et Matthias Schoenaerts, sur un sc\u00e9nario de Dennis Lehane (<em>Shutter Islands, Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;automne dernier, alors qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait \u00e0 nouveau choisi pour repr\u00e9senter la Belgique aux Oscars, il d\u00e9clarait vouloir devenir un r\u00e9alisateur transatlantique, un pied de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an.
